Free Beautiful Skin - By Christmas

Free Beautiful Skin - By Christmas

By Alevoor Rajagopal

When ever I think of beautiful skin, I am tended to recall what my mother used to do to get it. To tell you the truth, she did just what her mother did. They were making their own skin cream at home and the result of it all is still there to see. Oh! Absolutely no blemishes, no sign of aging (at least till they were both 60 years) and the glow.

So what is the recipe? If it is so effective a skin care and simple that it can be made at home why is not every one using it? Alright. Here my limitation is to concentrate on just what is good for your skin and how to get it. Certainly I am not going to do a research on why something is popular or not.

The Free Home Made Skin Care Recipe

Take a spoon or two of milk cream after hard boiling it. You get this sufficiently hard if you let milk cool down to room temperature. You can either take it on your palm or a clean glass dish. Mix a tinge of turmeric (Curcuma domestica) powder well into it. And presto! Your free home made skin care cream is ready. This is as natural a skin care product as it can get.

How and Where Do I Use It?

Simple. Just apply the new skin care cream on your face, your fore hands, legs or just allover where you need to take good care of your skin. Studies now show turmeric prevents UV rays from Sun damaging your skin.

How Does it Profit My Skin?

Milk cream, though looked down upon by fitness freaks, can not be over looked when it comes to skinn care. The protien content in milk, the fat all help rejuvanation of skin. I can't over emphasize on protein's contribution but fat here will complement the collagen of your skin. To you this means filling up the wrinkles from where collagen has dried away. So this is anti aging.

The Lactic acid in milk (however less in milk) keeps your skin's acidic nature and fights 'preprionobacterium acnes'. What is this? Well this is the bacteria that causes acne and they are effectively killed by milk cream. It also nourishes skin oil gland (sebaceous gland). Regulates oil secretion onto your skin. So less coagulation of this on the skin surface.

See? How easy it is and at no cost at all! You can make it at home and it is so fresh that you make it every day just before your skin care routine.

Long Term Benifits

Other benifits are it removes small hairs from your skin. Some of you grow hairs on side burns and over upper lips. Over a period you will notice the glow in your skin that no other skin care product could give all these years.

Well. Will I ever sell this formula? Psst... My wife can here you...

Skin Care. What You Should Do?

Skin Care. What You Should Do?

By Alevoor Rajagopal

What will you do to your skin care when it is winter? Covering up yourself in woollens or sitting long hours infront of hearth can keep you warm. But will it suffice to keep your skin in good steed? Read on what I did last winter.

Warm water shower for say not more than ten minutes will not take away your natural moisturizer from skin. It helps keep it intact. More over donot wipe yourself hard however smooth your towel might be. Because it
rubs the life out of your skin. Be gentle and just pat dry it. Apply a moisturizer when it is still partly wet. Apart from soothing, it glows your skin.

How about a bit of coconut oil to smear on your skin? I knew coconut oil was the best skin care product yet for winter. I did not like the odor it had but there are deodorized coconut oils available now made just for skin care.

I say best skin care product because it controls dangerous sunrays (UV) upto 20% more than all else and what more; it contains an acid known as lauric acid. This lauric acid supports your skin's normal response to bacteria and viruses. Also it gels very well with your skin as skin is slightly acidic in nature. To you this means increased protection against acne as this lauric acid fights P. Acnes a bacteria causing acne.

Avoid using soaps. You know soaps are alkaline and so it will have a neutralizing effect on your skin's resistance. A milder cleanser should be better. Cleansers I found are acidic and they compliment skin structure.

Drinking lots of water is another thing I did. But how much of water is lots of water? Ok. Physicians say any where from 1.5 to 2 liters a day is it. This translates to 6 to 8 glasses a day. Water flushes away toxins from the body and it keeps skin moist. Donot venture out in dry winter air. Other wise you will have your skin all cracked up/

Winter Skin Care Strategies

Winter Skin Care Strategies

By Alisha Burke

As the cold weather approaches, it may be time to consider your skin care strategy for the winter months ahead. Dry air and cold wind can have a significant effect on the health of your skin, and you will want to do everything you can to protect your skin from the harsh winter elements. Give some serious consideration to the following information, and be proactive about the health of your skin.

Even though you will be bundled up in winter clothing, you should still consider using a sunscreen of some sort. For daily use, it may be a bit extreme to cover yourself in sunscreen in the winter months. Instead, try to use a moisturizer or makeup with an SPF of 15. If you are going to be out on the slopes, you ought to use a sunscreen with an SPF as high as you would use in the summer. The snow on the hills reflects an incredible amount of sunlight. Don’t forget to use a quality lip balm, too.

Try to avoid taking long, hot showers this winter. We all know how wonderful a hot shower can feel on a cold day, but try to resist the urge as best as you can. Hot showers can strip your skin of its natural moisturizers. Instead take a short, warm shower. Try to pat your skin almost dry, and apply a moisturizer while your skin is slightly damp. This is a great strategy to help you avoid dry skin.

Another thing to consider is your home heating system. As your furnace will be in constant use in the colder months, the air in your home can become extremely dry. If you do not have a humidifier built into your heating system, you should invest in a portable humidifier. Using a humidifier can prevent your skin from drying out, and it can help you avoid dry nasal cavities. If you do suffer from a dry or bleeding nose in the winter, apply some petroleum jelly for short-term relief.

In my opinion, the best way to deal with dry skin is to hydrate from the inside out. Drink as much water as you possibly can, regardless of the time of year. Drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water per day, will flush countless toxins from your body and will help keep your skin healthy and fresh. By following these suggestions, you can have beautiful skin all year round.

Are Natural Skin Care Products the Answer to All Problems?

Are Natural Skin Care Products the Answer to All Problems?

By Ellen Biddle
When it comes to skin care products, you will find that a lot of people are very particular about using only natural skin care products. They treat all the synthetic products as harmful to the skin.

So, are natural skin care products the answer to all of our problems? What if a natural skin care product is not available for the treatment of a particular skin disorder? Are the synthetic skin care products so harmful that they should be banned?

Different people have different answers to these questions. However, the reality is that due to presence of synthetic preservatives, it’s really tough to find a natural skin care product that is 100% natural. There are natural skin care products that have natural preservatives, but their cost might be detrimental. Moreover, such natural skin products have a shorter shelf life and hence are not preferred by the manufacturers of natural skin care products.

Some people carry a wrong notion that since natural skin care products are natural, they cannot cause any harm to the skin. The suitability of a skin care product is not based on whether it is synthetic or natural. An unsuitable natural skin care product can harm you in almost the same way as a synthetic one. So, use natural skin care products, but be open to synthetic ones too (you might need them when a natural solution is not available)

Your selection of a natural skin care product should be based on 3 factors:

1. The skin type (dry, oily, normal, sensitive) of the person who will use that natural skin care product.

2. The climatic conditions in which it will be used e.g. hot and humid condition would warranty the use of oil-free natural skin care products.

3. The process for application/use of the natural skin care product. A good natural skin care product (in fact any product) can seem useless if not used in the proper way.

You can also make natural skin care products by yourself, by using the recipes that are readily available on the internet and in the books at book stores.

Use of organic fruits and vegetables is also popular as a natural skin care procedure. Some essential oils, herbal oils, are useful too and are known for their moisturising and antiseptic properties

However, using a natural skin care product does not mean that you can exercise carelessness with other aspects of skin care. Natural skin care products should be used like supplements to the following ‘essential’ recommendations: healthy eating habits (avoiding oily food), regular exercise, drinking a lot of water (8 glasses everyday), and cleanliness. This will then form a perfect and completely natural skin care routine that will help maintain a healthy beautiful skin for longer time.

The Basic Home Facial Treatment

The Basic Home Facial Treatment

By Alice Stacy

Going to a spa is nice, but we don't always have the time. And doing a facial at home is not as expensive, nor is it complicated. If you know the basic purposes- which are to cleanse and soften the skin, and the procedures involved, all you'll need are a few products and things that are already there in your home.

The first step is to cleanse your face. How you do this is really a matter of choice, and sometimes, budget. There are literally hundreds of facial cleansers on the market, for every type of skin, but the prices can get quite steep. If you're going to invest in a commercial cleanser, do some surfing for reports from magazines like "In Style", which do surveys and performance comparisons of the leading sellers. Otherwise, go with a basic soap that does not dry and tighten the skin. Many women choose organic soaps that contain goats' milk, which is less drying, and honey, which can help to retain moisture.

Next, you'll need to apply an exfoliating scrub specifically for the face, and your skin type. Exfoliating the skin removes dead cells, opening up black heads, bringing natural oils to the surface, and allowing oxygen to reach the new skin. Depending on your skin type, you may need to exfoliate once a week for dry skin, twice for combination oily/normal, or three times for oily.

After you have rinsed off the exfoliating cleanser with water, you're ready to steam your pores clean. Skip the commercial machines, and use a low bowl of water that has boiled, with a towel to create a tent over you head. Place your face about one foot above the bowl and hold it there for 10 minutes. If it feels like your skin is burning, you're too close. This will open up your pores and help get rid of blackheads and pimples. Those with super oily skin, and excessive blemishes, should try a ten minute steam treatment every night. Splash your face with tepid water, and pat dry. Never use hot or cold, as it can damage capillaries in your skin.

Apply your choice of moisturizer, while the skin is still freshly damp. All skin types can benefit from moisturizers, although they should be the kind meant for your specific skin type. Moisturizer seals in moisture, and also attracts moisture to the skin. If your face feels taut, the skin is not moist. But overuse should be avoided as well, since it will clog pours and cause blemishes.

Google and Skin Care

Google and Skin Care

Wonder why have I associated google with skin care and why not MSN or Yahoo for that matter? It is definetely not because world loves to google. I have my own reasons to using it. I have discussed it in my blog here.

Well. Skin care is one topic searched by a niche group and most of them are teenagers, manufacturers of skin care products and publishers. I have used google and google group services extensively for my research. It is an ocean of information even for skin care products.

It is not to say that Yahoo or MSN do not provide enough material for a researcher. When I was researching for my project on skin care e-book I have made use of all of them. Each one of them were unique in their own ways. Like for example MSN provides searching in encarta their branded niche service. This was extremely resourseful and useful. But I encountered sign up demands and at times paid sign ups for some.

What google has I think in some what comparison to this is google print. This is a google group servive bundle that allows you to read through rare books printed that otherwise you will not be able to lay your hands on in the nick of the moment. Oflate this google print has run into rough weather but they are sorting it out.

In addition google has a feature unique to it. It answers your questions and ofcourse you pay for it. Once you have set out the google team on a question you have the option to modify and clarify it till it is answered by them. I found this particularly very helpful when I was searching for a product profile and its user feed back. You know what? the product was not even marketed in my place. But so what, what all I wanted was the information that google could provide.

Yahoo has a somewhat simillar feature. But there is a difference. They sift through hundreds of results and present it as a report with most relavent information.

This brings me to tell still why do I like google more? We have all grown up with google when it was launched first. It was simple and was plane searching unlike retrieval from its directory. It was super fast and presentation was easy to browse through. It attracted more of us by providing publishers add google to their site. Well you don't know why you like one of your parents more than the other. I think this is something like that.

By the way, I am posting all my skin care blogs and articles on skin care products review here from time to time.

Home Remedy for Clear Skin

Of late home remedy for just about anything is gaining importance for obvious reasons. And home remedy for skin care coming to the center stage is nothing astonishing. People who do not want to try or who are tired of using chemical therapy for skin care are turning to home remedy. After all your skin is the only organ of your body that shows predominantly in the public if you forget your hairdo for a while.

Well, let us come to the point straight away. Keeping your body hygienic assumes utmost importance in skin care regimen. Take bath twice in a day if your routine permits you. (Oh… I hate bathing in a tub as you will have to immerse your body in that dirty water till you get out of the tub. A shower is better). Use mild bath soap without caring for its fragrance. (Fragrances are by additional chemicals).

For washing you face, neck and shoulders you can make yourself a skin cleanser. You will need following herbs.

• Bael tree leaves (Aegle Marmelos)
• Java plum or Black plum leaves (Syzygium Cuminii)
• Betal leaves
• Sandal wood
• Cloves
• Lemon peel
• Tur Daal
• Acacia Sinnata
• Turmeric
• Camphor

Procedure:

1. Take about a kilogram of each of bael tree leaves, black plum leaves, betal leaves. Thoroughly clean them and boil them in twice the volume of water till you get a thick fluid.

2. Beat cloves (about 8-10), powder finely, the sun dried lemon peels (about 25), acacia sinnata, tur daal(2 table spoons), turmeric(1 inch pod) all of them and filter.

3. Okay. But what will you do with the sandal wood? Grind it manually on a grinding stone with a very little water so as to make a paste of it.

4. Mix all these together thoroughly and add to the now cold fluid made above.

Presto! Your own home made skin cleanser is ready for all skin ailment remedy. The liquid can be stored in a convenient, air tight jar or a bottle.

Your brand of this skin cleanser helps you get an odorless, glowing skin. You can literally throw your body deodorant through the window. The betal leaves and cloves help cure acne while bael and black plum leaves keep itches, eczema away. The turmeric and sandal wood will shine your body. The sandal wood and camphor will give a beautiful fragrance to you.

Are you game for this?!
